Black phosphorus-based materials for energy storage and electrocatalytic applications

Abstract Since its successful isolation in 2014, two-dimensional black phosphorus (BP) has triggered considerable interest ffrom physicists, chemists and material scientists. Benefitting from the unique structural physicochemical properties, BP been explored various applications including photoelectric, biological electrochemical fields. Besides, also shows great potential as a promising electrode electrocatalyst energy storage electrocatalytic applications, tremendous progress made these fields recent years. Here, this review highlights experimental theoretical of BP-based electrodes electrocatalysts. The latest advances functional materials lithium-, magnesium- sodium-ion batteries, lithium–sulfur batteries supercapacitors, are presented detail. Further, emerging for hydrogen evolution reaction, oxygen reaction nitrogen reduction systematically reviewed with achievements challenges. Finally, we offer brief personal comments on existing challenges prospective outlook basis current research progress.
